Japanese Oriental Medicine Center

The Japanese Oriental Medicine Center focuses primarily on providing supportive cancer therapy, to help reduce the side effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy administered by other departments.

The Oriental Medicine Therapy We Provide to Cancer Patients

We prescribe Japanese Oriental medicine to cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy, in order to help reduce their side effects and assist them in completing their aggressive treatments. We also take part in palliative care rounds, and propose Japanese Oriental medicine as necessary to the primary doctors of patients hospitalized for chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Our aim is to not only make these supportive cancer therapies more widely known in the future, but also to proactively propose the use of Japanese Oriental medicine as a part of conditioning before starting chemotherapy, in addition to as a way to help maintain patients’ physical conditions before and after surgery, and even as a way to help prevent cancer from recurring.
